     In a town called Chareden, there lived a teen girl named Miriam Cassman. In her early childhood, Miriam contracted a high fever and came close to death. Ever since that close call, Miriam Cassman was able to see and speak to ghosts. She really liked this ability. Ghosts understood her better than most of her fellow mortals, and Miriam realized that a majority of ghosts aren’t scary at all, or at least don’t intend to be. Sure, certain ghosts are troublemakers. But then again, so are some mortals.     What Miriam was particularly glad about was that she met Keith Tuck, her second cousin who died in the Vietnam War. They had
